About the Global TechImpact Competition
The Global TechImpact Competition serves as a platform for aspiring social entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative solutions, connect with global impact leaders and investors, and accelerate their mission-driven ventures.
Designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and real-world impact, this competition empowers students to turn their ideas into tangible solutions that address pressing social and environmental challenges.
Spotlighting Changemakers & Big Ideas: How the Global TechImpact Competition Works
By bringing the Global TechImpact Competition to your country or organization, you’ll provide students with a unique opportunity to gain access to intensive social entrepreneurship training and mentorship and compete for investment funding.
In previous editions, students have had the chance to pitch their projects to a panel of esteemed judges, win a fully-funded trip to China, and win up to 100,000 USD in investment funding, our Global TechImpact Competition also provides participants with an opportunity to receive intensive social entrepreneurship training from seasoned mentors before and after the competition.
The program includes:
1. Open Call for Applications – Students submit their projects for review.
2. Screening & Selection – Two rounds of evaluations to identify the most promising teams.
3. Social Entrepreneurship Training – Top teams participate in a multi-week accelerator featuring expert-led workshops.
4. One-on-One Mentorship – Each team is paired with an experienced advisor for personalized guidance.
5. Final Pitch Event – Teams present their solutions to a distinguished panel of judges for a chance to win exclusive opportunities, including funding and global exposure.

The 2024 Edition
In partnership with Huawei’s Seeds for the Future, the 2023 Tech4Good Global Competition took place on January 11, 2024 with the event streamed live on Youtube. The competition attracted 148 participating teams where ten finalist teams were selected and had the chance to present their projects before a panel of distinguished judges.
After a rigorous round of judging, the Top 3 teams were announced including Namibia’s “YYeni AI,” Uzbekistan’s “Aquatibia,” and Germany’s “TraceWaters.” All three teams received significant prizes including 60,000 USD in monetary awards, meetings with Huawei executives, and an all-expense paid trip to China for further training.

The 2022 Edition
The 2022 Tech4Good Global Competition, held in collaboration with Huawei’s Seeds for the Future, took place on January 5, 2023. From a pool of 86 participating teams, 11 finalists were selected to present their groundbreaking ideas to an esteemed panel of judges.
Following a competitive round of presentations and Q&A, the Top 3 winners were unveiled: Ireland’s “Roll On,” Algeria’s “FarmAi,” and Italy’s “AlarmDeck.” These teams were rewarded with impressive prizes, including 55,000 USD in cash awards, 10,000 USD in mentorship opportunities, public recognition on Huawei’s platform, and a fully sponsored trip to China for advanced training. They also earned the chance to compete for an additional 100,000 USD investment from Huawei.

The 2021 Edition
The 2021 Tech4Good Global Competition, hosted in collaboration with Huawei’s Seeds for the Future program, brought together 79 applicant teams to compete for a chance to turn their innovative ideas into reality. After two rounds of rigorous evaluations, 10 exceptional teams were chosen to pitch their projects during a live-streamed, two-hour event on YouTube, which garnered over 2,000 live viewers and 10,000+ total views.
With 75,000 USD in prizes and mentorship up for grabs, the competition provided invaluable support for participants to refine their ideas and scale their impact. Thailand’s “Turning Green,” Vietnam’s “Earlie,” and Libya’s “Smart NICU” took the top spots, earning customized mentorship, expert coaching, and introductions to potential investors.
